Kwikstage or Tube & Fitting Scaffolding? Diamond Scaffolding

Updated: Aug 26

Tube scaffolding

In Ireland there are two main types of scaffolding in use today, these are; Kwikstage Scaffolding and Tube & Fitting Scaffolding.

We often receive questions on which of these systems is best to use for an upcoming construction project. Below, we have outlined some of the main benefits of each, which should help you to determine which scaffolding system is best suited to your project.

KWIKSTAGE SCAFFOLDING – FLEXIBLE & EASY TO USE

Kwikstage scaffolding has definitely become the modular scaffolding system of choice in Ireland, with most contractors now opting to use this system for their construction projects. Thanks to its modular, prefabricated composition, it is quick and easy to set up and can be shaped around building and other awkward areas. Kwikstage scaffolding is far less labour intensive to set up and takes a lot less time to assemble and disassemble, making it a more cost effective option.

TUBE AND FITTING SCAFFOLDING – FLEXIBLE & MORE ADAPTABLE

Although Kwikstage scaffolding is by and large the most popular option, there are still situations in which Tube and Fitting scaffolding is more suitable. Tube and fitting scaffold consists of tubes and fittings that are attached to each other using various scaffold couplers and clamps. Because of the way this scaffolding system is erected, it allows for working levels to be at any height and is more flexible and adaptable when it comes to design, making it ideal for more unusual construction projects.
